Life Transitions

A life transition is a significant change or shift in your life circumstances, responsibilities, relationships, or sense of identity.

Some transitions are positive and exciting, while others may be painful or unexpected. Even positive changes can create stress. It is normal to expeience a mixture of emotions while adjusting.

When to seek support

Consider talking with a mental health professional if difficulty adjusting:

  • Persists or continues to worsen

  • Significantly affects work, school, relationships, or daily functioning

  • Leads to persistent anxiety or depression

  • Causes significant withdrawal or isolation

  • Makes it difficult to care for youself

  • Feels overwhelming or impossible to manage alone.

Remember: A life transition does not require you to have everything figured out. SOmetimes the goal is simply to take the next healthy step while you adjust to your circumstances.
